I'm Thom, a garden and interior designer based in London. Spaces by Thom de Visser grew out of a simple belief: the outdoor spaces we live in should feel as considered and personal as the rooms inside our homes.

My path here has been a hands-on one. I trained in Visual Communication at Leeds Arts University and later completed a Diploma in Interior Design, giving me an eye for how spaces flow, indoors and out. Since then, I've worked on real gardens with Tree & Garden Services and Kelp Landscapes, and I currently split my time between running my own studio and interning at Studio Hummingbird, where I create detailed SketchUp and VRay visualisations and get out on site with clients.

I design gardens that are shaped around how people actually want to use them — whether that's a shaded corner for quiet mornings or a sun-drenched spot for entertaining. Every project is different, but the process is always the same: listen first, then design.

Outside of garden design, I co-founded Kinetic Sounds Records, an events and record label that channels its profits into charitable causes — a reminder that good design, like good work generally, should give something back.
